Stavanger banishes cruise ships from the city center

As the first "cruise city", Stavanger has decided that cruise ships will no longer be allowed to anchor in the central inner harbor from now on. In addition, the maximum number of cruise ships per day was reduced. The main reasons for this radical step lie in addition to the promotion of sustainable tourism, especially in the ambitious climate and environmental goals of the port city: Stavanger wants to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent by 2030. There are similar considerations in other port cities such as Bergen and Ålesund.
