Møre og Romsdal

Møre og Romsdal is situated in the northernmost part of the Vestlandet region of Norway, and borders the counties of Sogn og Fjordane.

The huge waterfalls, cliffy snow-covered mountains, pure and clear waters and the rocky coast line are just of impressive beauty.

The Geirangerfjord is for sure one of Norway’s most famous fjords. The 16 km large fjord arm and the Seven Sisters waterfalls are one of the most notable places of interest in Norway.

The Dalsnibba Mountain Plateau (1500 m high), offers fabulous views over the mountains, down to the Geiranger fjord and the Eagle Road. Along the Geiranger fjord, another attraction in this region is the Troll Path and the Atlantic Road which has a difference in altitude of 800 m. Worth a visit are the towns Kristiansund and Molde where you can also find a good cultural offer, specially during the summer since several festivals take place. Also well known is the fishing centre and coastal town Ålesund; with a population of approximately 38 000 inhabitants, it is the commercial and industrial capital of Møre and Romsdal. This town has one of the largest export harbours in the world for split, dried and salted fish, and has a bustling, picturesque fishing port along the old harbour where you can buy fresh fish and prawns at a good price. Another attraction of the town are the houses built in Art Nouveau style, which are appreciated by locals and visitors alike.A big contrast to the unspoiled nature are the huge cruise liners which seem to float on the fjord waters. No nature wonder but still worth to see.
